Catching up with one of our Gypsy Sisters who is an inspiration to us all ~ Brandi Todd

Two years ago in March, Brandi Todd was spending the day with her two children in a local park in Stephenville, Texas.  It was a beautiful day, sunny not many clouds in the sky.  She noticed a man acting strangely and before she knew it, it felt like she had been shot. Her life forever changed in that moment.  Brandi wasn’t shot that day, she was stabbed by a mentally unstable man who didn’t even know her.  A random act of violence witnessed by her children that left her with 90% of her spinal cord severed and a 1% chance to ever walk again.  She can remember hearing her daughter asking “is my mother going to die?”

Parade of Nations Fashion Review

There are 204 countries that compete in the Summer Olympics. During the Opening Ceremony parade these countries are given the chance to be fashionable and show their pride in their country to the world. I love watching the parade of countries because I love seeing how everyone is dressed and seeing who the designers are. Many of the countries this year went with designers within their country such as the United States went with Ralph Lauren, Jamaica went with Bob Marley’s daughter Cedella Marley, and Italy went with Giorgio Armani. During this time many of the designers choose to incorporate something about the country or the country’s flag colors within the ensemble. Some of my favorites this year include…

The Amazing Spiderman ~ Amazing or Not?

The Amazing Spiderman is simply just that. Amazing! I loved Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker as well as the all-star cast members Emma Stone, Sally Field, and Martin Sheen. The Amazing Spiderman is the story of Peter Parker who is raised by his Aunt May (Sally Field) and Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen). Peter is an outcast in school and is a typical teenager trying to figure life out. While cleaning out the basement he comes across his father’s briefcase and immediately tries to piece together his parent’s disappearance which leads him to the science lab of Dr. Curt Connors who is his father’s former partner. Peter is then bitten by a spider and the transformation begins. During this time, Peter has to learn to maneuver his new abilities. Meanwhile, Dr. Connors alter ego, The Lizard, emerges and begins harming people. Spiderman races against him in order to defeat him and protect the city.

Chasing the Dream!

I have a Dream.  I have a Goal.  Is that the same? Yes and no, is this making any sense?  So many of us are in a job that we HATE or have no passion for.  What is the dream you are chasing?  What do you lay in bed and think about every night before you go to sleep?  What is the first thing on your mind every morning when you wake up to go to the job you hate?  Are you just too busy with life to even think about that dream?  Day after day, we go though life get up, shower, brush our teeth, get ready and rush out the door to the same routine everyday, over and over again, it is so easy to be a creature of habit. We think change is good but we find ourselves doing the same and getting the same result.  What is that saying?  You have to do something different to get a different result right?
